My Favorite White Paint Colors

Choosing the “right” white paint color can be a daunting task. It’s such a simple color yet there are so many choices out there. Below are my favorite white paints and how they turned out in previous projects.

Snowbound - Sherwin Williams

Snowbound is a bright white that I like to use in transitional or more modern spaces. It really pops when placed against black or a dark gray. It’s also a great color to use in rooms with limited or no natural light because of how bright it is.

Alabaster - Sherwin Williams

Alabaster is a bit softer than Snowbound while still being a bright white. This color works for transitional or traditional spaces as well as exteriors.

Pure White - Sherwin Williams

Pure white is slightly less bright than Alabaster and has a very slight yellow undertone that makes it even softer. This is the white that we used throughout my entire home and I love how it’s bright but also a little moody when you have low lights on at night.

When selecting a white paint for your project, remember to also try samples in different areas around the room. Sometimes the color can look slightly different depending on the lighting in the area. I like to use Sherwin Williams’ peel and stick samples to help me see the color variations from different places around the room.

If you are working on a project of your own, consider using one of these white paints to set the mood you want to create in your space!
